Nowadays, every Tom, Dick and Harry with a real estate license is on social media and for good reason. This is the ideal space to get in touch with potential clients without begging. Here are some ways you can generate more leads for your real estate business using social media platforms:

Engagement is key!

Social media is more than just broadcasting – user engagement is just as much if not more important. The whole point is to be as social as possible without overdoing it.

The key is to take part in conversations that pertain to your real estate business. Become part of the dialogue to make that engagement as natural as possible.  No one likes to be pitched to all the time.

The great thing about social media is that it makes things so much easier. For example, you can use Twitter to locate people who are looking to buy/sell/rent property. Yes, you don’t have to send them emails begging for attention. If they are in the area, chances are most of them will reply especially if you propose a showing.

Similarly, don’t be afraid to share content relevant to your neighborhood. In fact, sharing information on the real estate market will also do the same job. Be social and check out content others have shared and retweet it so that you return the favor.

Connect wisely

To connect with as many prospects as possible, join groups that are sharing similar content. You will find people there who are actively searching for investment properties. Jump right in the middle by offering your help or offering any information they need. Chances are they will reconnect with you for help down the road. If not, they will always have the data you gave on file which might be shared.   The good news is they forward your contact information on to others who need help as well.

Whatever you do, never spam your followers or prospective followers. As mentioned before, no one likes to be sold to. You can’t force them to consider you just like you can’t force them to buy from you. Posting random links to properties you sell will do nothing but put them off.

Remember, real estate investors and buyers always search for agents they can trust. Bombarding them with useless information will only ruin your business reputation. Allow them to come to a decision on their own, whether they go for you or not.
